When posting a job on Jobref, you may prefer not to reveal your salary range publicly—whether to maintain flexibility or to align with internal policies. In this article, we explain how to hide the salary while still meeting our platform requirements and ensuring your listing attracts top talent.
Why you might hide salary
Many companies prefer not to share salary ranges in job ads. You might want to maintain negotiation leverage, protect internal equity, or encourage candidates to focus on your role’s responsibilities and benefits. However, remember that listings with visible salaries often attract more attention and higher-quality applicants.
How to hide salary in your job posting
Navigate to the “Create Job” page in your Company dashboard.
Scroll to the “Salary” section.
Enter your salary range in the provided fields.
Check the box labeled “Do not show salary in the job ad.”
Complete the rest of your job details and click “Publish.”
Even if you choose not to display the salary publicly, you’ll still need to provide it so we can calculate the Jobref margin fee.
Best practices for hidden-salary listings
Use clear job descriptions: a well-crafted role outline drives engagement.
Highlight other perks: emphasize benefits, growth opportunities, and company culture.
Consider partial transparency: a salary range bracket (e.g., “£50k–£60k”) can build trust without locking you into a single figure.
By following these steps, you can discreetly manage compensation visibility while leveraging Jobref’s powerful referral features to find the right candidates.
