Understanding how candidates move through your hiring pipeline is key to a smooth recruitment experience. In this overview, we break down each Jobref status, clarify visibility rules, and share best practices for communicating with your team and referrers.
Statuses
Status | Who can see it? | What it means |
New | Employer & Referrer | Fresh application; no action taken yet. |
Processing | Employer & Referrer | Interview or assessment in progress. The candidate does not see this status. |
Rejected | Employer & Referrer* | Candidate not moving forward. (Referrer sees it; candidate does not.) Auto-moves after 90 days of inactivity. |
Hired (Probation) | Employer & Referrer | Candidate hired on probation (30–90 days). |
Contract Ended | Employer & Referrer | Employment ended during probation—no fee due. |
Hired | Employer & Referrer | Probation passed successfully. Status flips automatically at midnight CET on the last day; the invoice is generated the next day. |
Pipeline Flow
Candidates typically move as follows:
New → Processing (optional) → Hired (Probation) → Hired or Contract Ended
You may skip Processing and go directly from New to Hired (Probation) for immediate hires. At any point in New or Processing, you can choose Rejected instead of moving forward.
