When a candidate leaves or is terminated during their probation period (30, 45, 60, 90 days, or any custom window you set), you can report the outcome directly in Jobref. Reporting on time means no placement fee will be charged.

When this applies

This policy applies whenever a candidate’s employment ends within the agreed probation period. The moment you confirm that the probation has failed, you need to act in the system—before midnight CET on the last day of probation.

Key points

  • No fee is due when probation fails and you report on time.

  • You must change the candidate’s status on or before the final probation day.

  • If you miss the deadline, Jobref automatically issues the standard invoice the next day.

Steps to report an unsuccessful probation

  1. Log in to your Jobref company dashboard.

  2. Open the candidate’s profile card whose probation has ended unsuccessfully.

  3. Click “Change Status” and select “Contract Ended – Not Successful.”

  4. (Optional) Enter a short reason for your records.

  5. Click “Submit” before midnight CET on the last probation day.

What happens after the deadline

If you do not update the status in time, the system assumes the probation was successful and automatically generates an invoice for the agreed fee. You will then need to contact support if you believe an error occurred.

Tips for success

  • Set a personal reminder a few days before probation ends.

  • Keep notes on each candidate’s start date and probation length.

  • Review your custom probation windows regularly to ensure accuracy.
